Bansko Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in Bulgaria and the 2014 Winter Olympics are held here, a favorite ski resort for European skiers. World ski champion Alberto Tomba`s ski, known as Tomba, the famous black difficulty grade ski slope is located in Bansko. The Bansko Ski and Snowboard Slopes are available from 990 to 2600 meters at all difficulty levels. There are a total of 13 runways, 6 Blue, 5 Red and 2 Black runways. The pistes are 65 km in total. long. There are 3 Chair Lifts, 8 Drag Lifts and 1 Gondola lift. Lift capacity is quite high and can carry 14, 200 people per hour. Lifts are open from 08:30 to 16:30. Bansko Ski Center is open from December to May and with its 44 Technoalpine artificial snow machines placed at suitable angles and locations for the slopes, it provides the comfort of skiing even in bad weather conditions.
